The Centre has now become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is registered as such with the Charity Commission.
The new organisation is the Honor Oak Community Association – Reg. Charity No. 1160442
The Honor Oak Community Association (HOCA) manages the Honor Oak Community Centre on behalf of Lewisham Council and provides facilities and activities to benefit the local community.
HOCA is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is registered with the Charity Commission.
The Association’s trustees are drawn from locally elected people.
The objects of the Charity are to: promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefit without distinction . . . to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants;
The Charity shall be non-party in politics and non-sectarian in religion. The area of benefit (“area of benefit”) shall be Lewisham and the surrounding areas.
